After several months since his team got knocked out of the playoffs, we were finally able to sit down with Nashville Predators’ GM Jay and to go over season 6. We also had the opportunity to talk about the upcoming offseason and what’s coming for Season 7

Since new GM Jay took over, we’ve already seen some changes. The acquisition of Marek Svatos, Kevin Bieksa and Darcy Hordichuk are only a few changes that were made to the team. Today, Jay decided the make another change but this time, it is the coaching staff that gets the hook.

The wait was long, but former Commish Jay finally got back in the league as the new GM for the Nashville Predators. He kindly agreed to sit down despite his busy schedule and talk to us about the challenges he’s facing since he took office.

After 4 consecutive years at the helm, GM Eddy Franchise finished last season by missing the playoffs for the first time. Prior to that, Nashville had always been a 5-8 team, never quite capable of elevating their game, but always good enough to make the playoffs. In April, it was decided that new blood was needed in Nashville and a former CMHL Stanley Cup Winner was brought in to lead the charge - GM Rye. Over the summer, Rye drastically altered the shape of this team, and now once again, he looks to make the playoffs, and get past the hurdle that every previous Nashville squad has stumbled on - making it past the quarter finals.
