-The Red Wings announced earlier that their Ichf affiliate would be moving from Saskatoon to Grand Rapids.The Team has been christened the Griffins and will play out of the new Van Andel in downtown Grand Rapids,Michigan.
-6 days after the draft winger Pascal Dupuis who had requested a trade due to lack of icetime was dealt to the Minnesota Wild for Centerman Mike Comrie.Comrie returns to a team that he once played for in the 2004-2005 season where he scored 24 goals,and added 33 assists which was good for 57 points.He was dealt to Dallas in season two for Vetern Winger Owen Nolan.Comrie is expected to be the 3rd line center after the retirement of Krys Beech.
-A week after the Comrie deal,Defensemen Alexei Semenov was dealt to the Washington Capitals for a 3rd round pick in the 2010 entry draft and right winger Patrick Dwyer.Dwyer recently signed a 3 year deal and is projected to play on the 4th line.
