Atlanta sizzles out of the gate Written by ATLsimon - November 15th, 2010

Watch out CMHL, the Thrashers are for real!

Atlanta is off to fast start this year and there is a sense of jubilation surrounding the team as it heads towards a long stretch of inter-divisional games.

With the final game of a three game set vs the Florida Panthers looming, the Thrashers are looking to get off to (probably) the fastest start in team history (we would have to check the facts though....just dont have time right now).

The team is being led by a very balanced offensive attack. Alex Edler, the defenceman whom the Thrashers have been so patient with, has already scored 3 goals, the same number as Travis Zajac and Daniel Sedin. Mason Raymond has been a nice addition to the Sedin line with 4 points in 5 games and will continue to receive high minutes as he works his way towards a career year,

Atlanta sits 13th in PP% at this early stage of the season and right in the middle of the pack, 15th, on the PK. Both of these rankings are much higher than where fans of this team are used to seeing the club. Typically, the Thrashers are at or near the bottom of all specialty teams situations at the end of the season.

After dealing with the stubborn Panthers on Tuesday, the Thrashers face the Carolina Hurricanes on the  road in Raleigh, then tackle the division leading Tampa Bay Lightning for three straight games starting Friday the 19th and finishing up on Wednesday the 24th.
