Finally!!! Written by Laci Bloomers - February 11th, 2009

It took 26 games, that's right, well over half their season, but the Tampa Bay Lightning have finally won back to back games.

As incredible as it sounds, that is how long it has been since that happened.  The last back to back wins were thanks to some fantastic goaltending, as Tim Thomas threw goose-eggs at Anaheim and Atlanta in consecutive 4-0 and 1-0 wins way back when.

This latest 2-game win streak offers more of the same, as a healthy Martin Brodeur has consecutive 2-1 wins.  Today's was a key victory, a huge 4-pointer against the conference's 8th place New Jersey Devils.

Tomorrow the Bolts will return to Tampa to take on the Pittsburgh Penguins as they try to match a season high 3 game run.

Bobby Holik set up third period goals by Jere Lehtinen and Mike Knuble to provide the offense.

Brad Larsen had a short night, as he picked up a 5-minute major 25 seconds in to the contest, and then received a goaltender interference minor and a game misconduct in the second period.

The Whoopee got shutout goaltending from Steve Mason as they romped to a 9-0 win, pulling them back into first place in the Eastern Conference.  Mason's goose-egg follows a shutout the night before by Matt Keetley.
